Vancouver Work Crews Get Head Start On Storm

Summary


Vancouver public works crews hit the streets about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, on 12-hour shifts, and are continuing today to battle the predicted bout of severe winter weather.

The night shift has been working to prevent street problems by applying a sodium de-icing brine on overpasses, steep grades and major arterial streets, according to a bulletin from city spokeswoman Loretta Callahan.
