WHITE SALMON The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area has adopted a plan to reduce the trails in the Coyote Wall-Catherine Creek area from 37 to 26 miles and add limited restrictions on horses and dogs.

Dan Harkenrider, scenic area manager in Hood River, approved the plan on March 20. The deadline for appealing his decision to the U.S. Forest Service regional office in Portland is May 4.
