OREGON CITY, Ore. -On a campaign swing through Oregon Friday, Vice President Dick Cheney said the decision voters make this election will lay the groundwork for the nation's military strategy for years to come.
"In the late 1940s, we redesigned and rebuilt our military forces and then we lived with that basic and fundamental national security strategy for the next 40 years until we succeeded and ended the Cold War," said Cheney, flanked by a sign that read "America Safer, Stronger, Better."See the full content of this document
