The state Department of Ecology will closely examine the East Fork of the Lewis River, the first step to developing a water cleanup plan required by the federal Clean Water Act.

The first step in the 16-month process will begin with a two- hour public workshop at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Battle Ground High School library, 104 W. Main St. The state Department of Ecology will host the meeting.
