Mother Nature got off to a bit of a slow start this year, but she's finally blanketed Mount Hood with enough powdery snow to launch the ski season.

Mt. Hood Meadows Ski resort opened Saturday, while Timberline began full lift operation late last week. Mt. Hood Skibowl is expected to open within the next week or two. Area ski resorts were spoiled last year when snow coated the slopes in mid-November, allowing for an early ski season opening.
