Summary


Sociologists long have documented that the strongest of human desires are the desires for food and sex. They might now add to the list the desire for gasoline.

Humans, when deprived of food, will resort to animal-like violence to get a loaf of bread and a jar of jelly. Californians, who so far as we know still classify as being part of the human race, last weekend resorted to attacking pregnant ladies, assaulting 60-year-old women and brandishing weapons to get a couple of gallons of gasoline.
