With the expected arrival of Major League Soccer two years away, the Portland Timbers are hoping that a couple of strong seasons in the United Soccer Leagues First Division can build momentum for their entry into the top professional league. Today at PGE Park, the Timbers play their first home match of 2009 as the Carolina RailHawks visit. The 7 p.m. game will be televised live on FSN (cable channel 34). The same teams clash again Saturday at PGE Park.
