In NASCAR's ongoing push to make its All-Star race comparable to parallel events in other major league sports, a series of off-track activities is being added to the lineup this year.

In the days leading up to the May 21 Nextel All-Star Challenge at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., NASCAR will hold a Pit Crew Challenge, take the All-Star trophy on a multi-city tour across North Carolina, and offer a fan sweepstakes that will award $50,000 and a VIP prize package.
