SEATTLE - Gov. Gary Locke and state schools chief Terry Bergeson have introduced voluntary guidelines for preschoolers, intended to better prepare kids for kindergarten and beyond.
The new recommendations reflect the state's comprehensive approach to preparing and assessing students, exemplified by the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL). The periodic test will be a graduation requirement for the high school graduating class of 2008.See the full content of this document
