An early Sunday morning visit to church ended badly for a suspected 20-year-old burglar hiding in the attic of the Mill Plain United Methodist Church.

Vancouver police responded to an automated alarm at the church, 15804 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday. The first officer arrived within a few minutes and confronted a man wheeling an audio-video cart with a television and DVD player out a side door.
