Planners Ok Lifting Building Impediment; Urban Growth Area's Fate Rests with Commissioners

Summary


Four square miles added to the north end of Vancouver's urban area last year should be opened to development, the Clark County Planning Commission decided late Thursday.

A so-called "holding" designation has prevented that land from being developed until officials determine roads, schools and other services are available. That designation has also been applied to 5 square miles of urban area added in other areas in a growth plan county commissioners adopted last year.
