OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) A Clackamas County woman recently charged with animal neglect is now accused of misusing money intended for the care of her 86-year-old mother, who is bedridden and in the late stages of Alzheimer's disease.

Virginia Ann Winter, 55, was booked into the county jail last week on charges of criminal mistreatment. Authorities say she spent a $400,000 trust fund that her father left for the care of her mother after his death in 2003.
