Oregon College Officials Discuss Cuts

PORTLAND -- Oregon's seven public universities began the arduous process Friday of divvying up $7.5 million in state budget cuts looming after this month's failure of the Measure 30 tax increase.

Members of the state board of higher education met in Eugene, all together for the first time since former Gov. Neil Goldschmidt took over as the board's chair, and six other new members were appointed by Gov. Ted Kulongoski.
