Legislative candidate Randy Mueller fell one delegate vote shy of getting the county Republican Party's endorsement over the weekend and has decided to drop out of the 17th Legislative District primary race.

That leaves the field to businessman Paul Harris, who entered the race last week. Harris plans to face state Rep. Deb Wallace, D- Vancouver, for Position 2 in the November general election. A former Evergreen school board member, Harris ran unsuccessfully for Vancouver City Council in 2003 and for the 17th District seat now held by Rep. Jim Dunn, R-Vancouver, in 2004.
