Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation Department offers infant and toddler swim classes at the Marshall and Firstenburg community center pools. Called Parent-n-Tot, the lessons provide water orientation for children ages 6 months to 3 years and their parents.

Enrollment in Parent-n-Tot classes is capped at 10 children. The lessons regularly fill up, and waiting lists sometimes form, said Karen Krohling, assistant pool manager and swim lesson coordinator at both centers. Popularity is on the rise as the city grows, and additional classes have been added to help meet demand, she said.
