Legislative efforts to require governments to audio tape executive sessions met stiff opposition from municipal lobbyists this year, and a bill to that effect died. State Rep. Lynn Kessler, D-Hoquiam, insists she will keep introducing the bill until it passes. Good for her.
But that doesn't mean officials cannot decide on their own to tape executive sessions. In fact, the Port of Seattle, scolded in a performance audit by the state auditor's office, wisely decided to tape executive sessions.
