For a man who made his fortune operating a river barge line, Ray Hickey has a high-altitude view of generosity. On Monday, Portland's Oregon Health & Science University announced that the Vancouver philanthropist had given $2.5 million to endow a chair to lead pediatric research.
This is not the first time Hickey's generosity has crossed the Columbia River. He has been an advocate for the Doernbecher Children's Hospital at OHSU and in 2005 his foundation was named "Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation" at the 2005 Oregon Philanthropy Awards.See the full content of this document
