MOUNT VERNON (AP) A former acting Concrete police chief has been acquitted of misdemeanor animal-cruelty charges for using his police- issue Taser to discipline his dog.

Chris Roff, 28, told Skagit County District Court Commissioner Linford Smith that he used the Taser, which emits an electrical charge, to discipline the dog in August 2004.
