Teenage drivers advocating a lower speed limit? Surely something was up.

At 1:23 a.m. Tuesday, a Ridgefield police officer was driving along South Royal Road near Ridgefield High School when he spotted two males standing next to a Jeep Cherokee. The two 18-year-olds allegedly had stolen a 15 mph speed sign from a construction site. They had taken down a 35 mph speed sign and were apparently planning to put the 15 mph sign in its place when they were spotted by the officer, police said.
