Two organizations have each donated $1,000 to help the city of Vancouver provide bicycle helmets for low-income families.

Vancouver's law requiring cyclists, skateboarders, roller skaters and in-line skaters to wear helmets took effect March 25. The law applies to both adults and juveniles riding or skating on streets, parks and trails.
