How well school districts spend their money has always been contentious, and today, Vancouver Public Schools invites the public to discuss it a little more.

The public hearing, at 4 p.m. at the district's central office, is based on an audit of the state's 10 biggest school districts from 2004 to 2006. The audit, released in September, argues that those districts could save $54 million over the next five years.
