Dean Kirkland Sentenced to Federal Prison

PORTLAND (AP) Dean Kirkland, a Camas resident and former salesman for the defunct Capital Consultants financial firm, has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for his role in a $350 million loss to clients, mostly union pension funds.

Kirkland, a former University of Washington and Columbia River High School football star, was convicted June 16 of 24 counts of wire fraud, obstruction and paying illegal gratuities to a number of Capital Consultants customers.
