Bits 'N' Pieces: Clipper Fan's Book Sets Sail

Summary

Larry Weirather retired from teaching poetry and pop culture at Clark College, but he hasn't left the subjects behind. A book Weirather wrote on pop culture will be released Thursday. Weirather's "The China Clipper, Pan American Airways and popular culture," is available through the publisher, McFarland & Co. at www.mcfarkandpub.com, and on www.amazon.com.

Of particular interest to Weirather, and the focus of the book, are the Pan American clipper ships of the 1930s and '40s. Weirather collects Clipper memorabilia. A postcard with a China Clipper flying boat serves as the cover of his book.
