U.S. Rep. Brian Baird announced Monday that he will seek a sixth term in Congress - and that he already has a campaign war chest of more than $1 million available to counter independently funded attacks against his candidacy.

Baird, a Vancouver Democrat, cited as his top accomplishments restoring sales tax deductibility for Washington residents, leading the fight against methamphetamine, founding the congressional National Parks Caucus, and introducing the House version of the first bipartisan comprehensive health care reform legislation in more than a decade.
