A 51-year-old Vancouver man told police a group of about five teenagers attacked him late Tuesday after he saw them hanging out near a neighbor's home and told them to leave.

Donald D. Denniston, who lives on East 29th Street near Interstate 5 in the Rosemere neighborhood, was struck in the eye with a stick. The injured eye was swollen shut and bleeding when officers arrived, according to a Vancouver Police Department report.
