Speculation intensified Thursday that the Trail Blazers and Nets are close to a deal that would send forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim to New Jersey for guard Kerry Kittles, backup center Aaron Williams and one of three draft picks acquired from Denver for Kenyon Martin.

Portland general manager John Nash declined comment on the rumor, but he acknowledged he and Nets GM Ed Stefanski have spent quite a bit of time together the past few days at the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City.
