Hudson's Bay / Columbia Way - Welcome to the Neighborhoods

Fred Meyer is one of the first stores expected to open this year at the Grand Central shopping center at Grand Avenue and state Highway 14. The Hudson's Bay and Columbia Way neighborhoods are excited about the grocery store and other shopping opportunities. Residents in the Columbia Way neighborhood say they are excited about a new grocery store and other retail and service businesses coming to the Grand Central shopping center.

Community Plans to Get Tough On Graffiti

Graffiti is sprouting in areas throughout east Vancouver. Police hope to hatch a graffiti-busting squad of community members. This photo was taken in a neighborhood in the area of Northeast 39th Street and Northeast 135th Avenue. The wall behind the Columbia Square Mall in the 13500 block of Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard has an iridescent glow. It's been painted over more times than Tom Miller can count.

What's Up with That? Use Tact When Dealing with Messy Neighbor

About a month ago, a neighboring house caught fire. Apparently, no one was there when it happened, although there were inspectors crawling all over it for days. Since the inspections, the house is boarded up with garbage piled outside. Or, as a neighbor who called the fire department when she spotted the blaze joked, "I called too soon!"
